003. Guide to Blood Types Empty
PostSubject: 003. Guide to Blood Types   003. Guide to Blood Types EmptyWed Jun 20, 2012 9:08 am

It's important to remember that especially during this age, the concept of blood status is a social construct. It has nothing to do with your character's actual genetic background, only with what they and other people know about their ancestors.

This means that many characters who we would call halfblood in the modern Harry Potter series may get away with calling themselves pureblood, especially if there is a history of magic in the family.

Pureblood

Anyone with more than two or three generations of magical history in their family.

Halfblood

Anyone born to a union of a witch/wizard and a muggle

Squib

Any non-magical person born to the union of a magical person or persons

Muggleborn or Muggle

Anyone with no known magical history in their family
